“IRL Gallery is beyond thrilled to announce Fritto Misto, a group show featuring 28 international and NYC-based artists, each contributing one unique work. A wide range of practices from oil and acrylic painting to hard and soft sculpture to electrical audiovisual installation will be displayed, serving a fresh interdisciplinary mix of contemporary art. The show title refers to the Italian dish “fritto misto”, a summer staple best enjoyed in the company of friends, perhaps wine and lots of lemon.”

“Saxon continues to explore his own experiences through markings and memories creating playful and sometimes challenging subjects. The base of his work/s are created by laying lengths of canvas on the studio floor allowing it to pick up all the dirt, spillages and imperfections along the way to create an authentically created mess. The handmade aluminium frame encases the work but also visually ties reference to his mothers 1969 280 SE Mercedes that he learnt to drive in.”
